Oris Minzler 82 years of Hillsboro, died Saturday, March 6, 2009 at his residence.
He was born at Wilmington, Ohio on August 1, 1927 the son of the late Andrew and Minnie (Cassady) Minzler. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Jared Greene, four sisters, Mary Ruth Young, Betty Lee Henthorn, Reta Cochran, Rosellen Young, two brothers, Dale and Henry Minzler.
He was a member Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church, Supervisor Buckeye Molding for 26 years, an avid hunter who was a life member of the National Rifle Association, National Wild Turkey Association, Director and Board Member of the Ohio State Chapter Wild Turkey Association, an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
On April 16, 1951 he was united in marriage to Dottie (Richmond) Minzler who survives. He is also survived by son and daughter-in-law Stanley and Karen Minzler of Blanchester, OH., two daughters and son-in-law Vicki L. Minzler of Hillsboro, OH. and Marlita K. and Logan Williams of Leesburg, OH, one brother Raymond Minzler of New Vieena, OH., 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church.
Rev. Richard Burns will officiate with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard to follow at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church.
The Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
